Dr. Agustín Delgado

Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer, Iberdrola

Agustín Delgado (Spain, 1972) holds an Industrial Engineering degree from the Escuela Superior Industrial (ICAI) of Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid and a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a distancia (UNED). He has also completed the School of Management Programme designed specifically for Iberdrola by IESE and the Global Leadership Programme at IMD.

A professional with twenty years of experience, he began his career in different companies from the rail and energy sectors. He joined Iberdrola in 2006 as Innovation Director. In 2010 he was appointed Innovation, Sustainability and Quality Director. In 2014 he was appointed Chief Innovation and Sustainability Officer for the Iberdrola Group. Sid focuses on overall business strategy at Innowatts, and is working closely with some of world’s leading energy providers on deploying Innowatts self- learning & self-serving retail energy platform, providing customer-centric energy intelligence to optimize energy cost and empower consumers with personalized energy products and services.. Under his leadership, Innowatts has grown organically to serve more than 15MM meters across 13 different energy markets and 3 continents.

Prior to founding Innowatts, Sid spent 15 years working across companies, like Sony, NTT, and NRG Energy.

At NRG, he built an energy forecasting and analytics group, enabling more than $4 billion of power procurement on an annualized basis.

Sid holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India and a Master’s in Business Economics from the University of Delhi.

Dr Maher Hakim

Executive Director, QSTP

Dr Hakim is a sought-out expert and educator in technology innovation and entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship financing, venture capital, and M&A in the tech industry. He is currently the Executive Director of Qatar Science and Technology Park. Dr Hakim is an Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University Qatar and has served as the head of CMUQ-AlFaisal Innovation Entrepreneurship Center. He is currently on the Council of the European Innovation Academy – a nonprofit educational institution recognized globally for excellence in tech entrepreneurship education. Dr Hakim has about 20 years of experience as a high-tech entrepreneur and a corporate executive in the information technology industry. Between 1994 and 2012, Dr Hakim lived in the Silicon Valley, founded five technology startup companies, and served in various management and leadership roles at large software companies such as Infor and Autodesk. He was involved in many M&A tech transactions on both sides and participated in taking one company public on the Nasdaq stock market. In addition to teaching, Dr Hakim is a board member, advisor and a mentor to several tech startup companies and is an active angel investor, and he frequently writes blog posts on innovation and entrepreneurship. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer-Aided Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (1993) M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1990), and a BS in Civil Engineering from Damascus University (1987).[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
