VOL. 2

Empowering Young Minds through Innovation

In line with QF RDI’s wider objectives, our efforts at QSTP are geared towards building Qatar’s local capacity in innovation, technology development, and entrepreneurship. Therefore, we strongly believe in instilling a culture of innovation into our younger generations from an early age. Nurturing and empowering the bright young minds of aspiring entrepreneurs is key to building technologically progressive, sustainable and adaptable societies. And this is exactly what the QSTP ecosystem provides and facilitates. As Qatar Foundation’s tech development and entrepreneurial hub, we offer students from all around Education City the opportunity to work with innovative startups that are incubated at our premises, and many of these students have become business founders themselves.

In 2020, we launched the program, Meshkat, in partnership with Qatar Career Development Center (QCDC), aimed specifically at high school students in Qatar. The program delivers workshops and educates students on the wide range of career options available in the world of tech development and entrepreneurship. Additionally, several of our partner companies such as Qatar Mobility Innovations Center (QMIC), Qatar Shell Research and Technology Center (QSRTC) and Skora have custom designed programs for young students to benefit from and gain first-hand experience in their chosen field.

Success Stories

ADGS

“ADGS has been working with Hamad Airport to build a Capital Asset Replacement system that has been chosen over competitors (Accenture, KPMG, IBM and Oracle). The TASMO-based system, named “CARP“, allows the airport to identify the crossover point where one might consider replacing the asset instead of fixing it. Being able to predict exactly when the replacement will be optimum to ensure service continuity and minimum cost is a complicated matter that CARP efficiently solve. CARP is using data science, machine learning, and big data analytics into processes related with maintenance and replacement of capital assets. CARP develops a prioritized asset upgrade and replacement plan, spanning long-term horizons and predicting optimum cross-over points in time.

PANDEXIT is helping nations reimagine how they are handling the variants DELTA and OMICRON. The platform assists decision-makers in identifying and implementing policies and settings to combat the new variants.

Where classic statistical models are overwhelmed by varied data of vaccinated/unvaccinated, variants, preconditions, travels, PANDEXIT, with no additional modifications, can keep governments a step ahead of the virus, making them proactive. Considering it helped in saving a lot of lives and mitigating the spread, this brilliant invention was declared one of the major health innovations of 2020 at the ‘World Innovation Summit for Health in 2020’.

PANDEXIT allows decision-makers to know the ins and outs of their decisions: discovering the right policies against the OMICRON variant for instance needs parameters that are not yet available (at the time this article is written) and developing the efficient policies required to fight against the new variant are still unavailable. PANDEXIT, however, is already able to simulate the propagation of the disease and discovers the policies that will mitigate the dominant variant. Unfortunately, most governments rely on old methods and take drastic measures where they are not necessary, or on the opposite, take timid and insufficient actions to stop the propagation of the virus.

Using ADGS cutting-edge technology, PANDEXIT becomes a decisional product to allow governments and anti-COVID committee to always have a decisive step ahead of the virus.

For AUSTRALIA, Pandexit was a key to minimize the human and economical impacts of the new variants, first DELTA, then OMICRON.

In SINGAPORE, Pandexit allowed to analyse the spreading impact of the new virus inside the transportation system of the city

STROKK is a military grade behavioral biometric software that makes stolen password useless to hackers by knowing how you type. The technology used here is Keystroke Dynamics.

In 2021, STROKK was a fraud deterrent for the largest bank in Africa.

ADGS was the only private technological Qatari company to expose at MILIPOL 2021, with a complete STROKK demonstration that has been heavily tested by 2273 visitors without failing, despite the password clearly written on the test screen.

  • Qatar MoTC has incorporated ADGS into the TASMU Digital Valley program.
  • Qatar Fintech Hub has incorporated STROKK in its portfolio.
  • Business Talk magazine (USA) has included ADGS in the special publication “Innovative Companies of the Year 2021”
  • The founder of ADGS have been included in “The Most Influential Business Persons of the Year, 2021” in Prime View Magazine (USA)
  • The magazine “Corporate Vision” (UK) included ADGS in an article “Modeling the Future”
  • The magazine “The CEO Views” registered ADGS as “Top 50 most innovative companies to watch in 2021”

  • “APAC Entrepreneur” magazine (USA) wrote an article about Hassan Al Ansari and ADGS about “Unlocking the Possibilities within Science and Technology to solve Society’s biggest challenges”

RIMADS

In addition to the above, here are also a few updates:

  • Avey is still growing exponentially, with more than 100,000 downloads per month that are just increasing on a monthly basis and with a sign-up rate that recently exceeded 15%. To this end, we expect to exceed 1Million downloads before the end of April, 2022. We have already celebrated the mark of hitting half a million downloads a few weeks ago.
